GAF is the largest roofing manufacturer in North America. They make shingles for about one in four homes in the country. When they put their name on a warranty, they stand behind it. And because we've gone through their certification process, you get access to their enhanced warranty options.

A standard shingle warranty covers the shingles by themselves and starts prorating after the first few years. GAF's System Plus warranty covers the shingles and the qualifying GAF accessories together, and it stays non-prorated for 50 years on manufacturing defects. It also includes tear-off and disposal if a covered defect means the roof has to come off.

To qualify for System Plus, your roof needs GAF shingles plus at least three qualifying GAF accessories, such as leak barrier, roof deck protection, starter strips, ridge caps, or attic ventilation. We confirm which products qualify before the job starts.

Why the Installation Still Matters

Here's the thing about roofs: most problems aren't caused by defective shingles. They're caused by installation mistakes. A nail in the wrong place. Flashing that wasn't sealed right. Vents that weren't integrated properly. A manufacturer warranty won't help you with any of that, including System Plus.

System Plus covers manufacturing defects in GAF products. It does not cover installation mistakes. That's why who installs your roof matters as much as what goes on it. GAF only lets certified contractors register System Plus, and we have to keep meeting their standards to hold that certification.

And because System Plus is backed by GAF directly, not by us, your coverage on manufacturing defects doesn't depend on any one roofing company staying in business.

How to Get System Plus

Not every contractor can offer System Plus. GAF only extends it through certified contractors who've completed their training program and meet their quality standards. We're one of them.
